Alfa Romeo 4C: History

This is a screenplay for a hypothetical ad for Alfa Romeo’s 4C sports car. It calls upon historical footage of legendary Alfa Romeo race car driver Tazio Nuvolari, who is widely regarded to be the first true race car driver. He commanded massive respect from his fellow pre-War Grand Prix drivers and even from the builders of the race cars themselves, such as Enzo Ferrari and Ferdinand Porsche. His name still lives on in the world of motorsport, even though he passed away over 60 years ago.

The sceenplay utilizes a déjà vu narrative style, in which scenes of Nuvolari racing are mimicked in camera angle and motion for the Alfa 4C scenes. Unlike other car brands which simply mention their history and leave it at that or make use of more modern racing, this calls upon Alfa’s roots as a truly great marque and utilizes it as means to promise the 4C is worthy of the badge it wears.

Below you will find a script and a screenplay. The script conforms to the industry standard two-column style, the screenplay is just nicer to read. A gallery of storyboards is viewable beneath the links. Click each image to view full size.
